About Neurodiversity Assessments
Affinity Psychology specialises in providing comprehensive psychological assessments for women seeking clarity and understanding of neurodiversity, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Research suggests that females are more likely than males to receive a delayed diagnosis and treatment and have higher rates of anxiety and depression diagnoses both before and after their ADHD diagnoses. ADHD and Autism present differently in females, and it is essential that women and girls are assessed by clinicians who understand these nuances and the gender bias in the diagnostic criteria. It is also essential to understand the interplay of hormonal fluctuations in the exacerbation of symptoms.

Assessment Services We Offer
- ADHD Assessments: Comprehensive assessments to evaluate attentional difficulties, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and executive functioning challenges that may indicate ADHD. Our assessments include clinical interviews, behavioural observations, standardized rating scales, and observer reports to provide a comprehensive understanding of ADHD symptoms and their impact on daily functioning.
- Autism Assessments: Thorough assessments to evaluate social communication skills, restricted and repetitive behaviours, sensory challenges, and other characteristics associated with Autism. Our assessments include clinical interviews, behavioural observations, standardized assessments, and collaboration with other professionals (e.g., educators, speech therapists) to provide a holistic understanding of autism-related strengths and challenges.
Review of Service
- Initial Interview occurs via zoom
- Review of individual’s history (including developmental, medical and educational history) and tailoring of individual assessment package
- Diagnostic report including long and short-term strategies
- Feedback, recommendations and question session via Zoom
Assessment happens over one or two sessions depending on the needs and specified requirements of the individual and is administered with the individual only.
